DAT (Digital Audio Tape)was a very common format used by recording studios in the 1990s and early 2000s. While this format was very convenient format to mix down to, it has proven to degrade over time – especially when not stored in optimum conditions. With this in mind, it is imperative to transfer your DAT tapes to a computer-based file such as .wav before the tape becomes completely unrecoverable.
We can transfer your DAT recordings digitally to .wav and .mp3 files and return them to you on a USB pen drive (or cloud-based storage if it is more convenient). We will take the upmost precaution in doing so, and even transfer the tape to another cassette body if necessary. However please be aware that some tapes are not recoverable (especially if they have been stored in damp conditions).
This service is only available in the Canary Islands due to customs issues when receiving tapes from elsewhere. Prices start at €50 for a single DAT (including USB Pen Drive and return shipping via Correos). If the tape is blank or unrecoverable, we will return the DAT back to you and refund you (less the cost of return shipping). Bulk rates available.
